Welcome to DTE

Welcome to Duck Tape Engineering from San Diego, CA.

The last task has been finished - the project has been christened 'Lina F.' with the real stuff on December 3, 2011 at De Anza Cove of Mission Bay. Albeit a bit chilly, we had a good turnout of people, food, soda, some beer (clandestine) and lots of pictures and iMovies. The choosing was the hardest part, I apologize for the selection.

This will be (most likely) the last entry for the miniflower project - I will start on the article for Wooden Boat some time soon, promise to myself.

And a follow-up project is already in the back of my mind plus some drafting. let's name it the amphibious assault ship for the time being (courtesy of Pete from the mizzen mast).

But for this I also want to remodel the website, using modern publishing technology as opposed to hand crafting HTML like for the last 8 years.

-- All I need is a tall ship - and a star to steer her by --

-- Full and by, finally:

NEW website again: old angeltowns fell off the face of the earth. Now we are with 1&1, hopefully more professional. All pics are uploaded hopefully, please notify me if there are still misses (e-mail below). The site is http://www.ducktapeengineering.org. 3 Hours turnaround at 1&1 - I am impressed. Last cleanup (5/7/08).

-- Nice? It's the ONLY thing,' said the Water Rat solemnly, as he leant forward for his stroke. `Believe me, my young friend, there is NOTHING--absolute nothing--half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats. Simply messing,' he went on dreamily: `messing--about--in--boats; messing----'

This was many moons ago, early 80ies- my wife found an old photo with me (yes, lots of hair) in a thing called a Mini 12er, designed by Julijk & Frodel: part of a marketing campaign to promote match racing in Germany. People provided a whole truck full of these little things for a weekend and organized mini-races. A predecessor to the miniflower idea.

If you find this interesting or would like to know more about this endeavour, just send us a note. Again, we might answer quickly.
